About The Service

Cardiff is growing faster than any other major city in the UK outside of London and is projected to grow more than every other local authority in Wales combined. Cardiff Council’s Transport White Paper lays out an ambitious 10-year plan to tackle the climate emergency, reduce congestion and improve air quality in the Welsh capital. The Council is working with our regional partners, Welsh Government and Transport for Wales to make sure that the right transport infrastructure is in place to provide real choices for people travelling into Cardiff from the wider region.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and enthusiastic individual to pursue and progress a career in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). ITS consists of a range of specialised systems and on street infrastructure used to manage and inform vehicular, cyclist and pedestrian traffic in Cardiff including Traffic Signals, Electronic Vehicle Signs, CCTV, the Bute Tunnel and other ITS related equipment on the highway. This post will assist with the design and contract management of ITS assets on the highway and delivery of large scale internal and external renewal and new projects.

This is a superb opportunity to be at the heart of one of the most exciting and dynamic economies in the UK at an exciting time in the City’s development and changing how people move around our growing city.
