Independent Living Services (ILS) support vulnerable adults to live independently at home and connected to their communities, through tailored information, advice, and support – enabling people to take control of their own lives
About the job
As an Accommodations Support Officer, you will be responsible for collaboratively working closely with housing teams, social care, and private landlords to understand each citizen’s needs providing advice about tenancy, by telephone, face to face interviews and by visiting customers in their own homes.
What We Are Looking For From You
You will need to have experience of working with, or understanding the needs of vulnerable adults, have an understanding and experience of income assessment, and benefit maximisation. As well as a good knowledge, understanding and experience in the housing sector.
You will need to be an excellent communicator with the ability to listen, act and inform. You will need to form partnerships with internal and external services and organisations. You will spend much of your time interacting with customers and responding to their requests and queries. You will usually work in an environment where you are face to face with your client using your strong communication, decision making and analytical skills to ensure the delivery of a timely and responsive customer experience.
The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, and Community Languages would be an advantage.
