This post is within the Accountancy section of Finance. The Accountancy section has qualified and experienced accountants providing professional financial advice and accountancy support to all directorates, schools and a range of outside bodies and joint committees for both revenue and capital accounting. The successful applicant will support the Capital, Treasury Management and Corporate Team in its role of Accountable Body for Cardiff Capital Region City Deal (CCRCD).
About the job
The candidate will be required to support the budget setting, financial monitoring and reporting as well as the closure and external audit of the financial statement for Cardiff Capital Region City Deal (CCRCD) Joint Committee.
They will support the development of new initiatives undertaken by CCRCD, providing financial advice and an assurance role for Cardiff Council acting as Accountable Body on behalf of local authority partners.
The post will involve working closely with senior officers of Cardiff Council and the CCRCD as well as finance teams across the region to meet objectives.
What We Are Looking For From You
Candidates should hold a relevant financial qualification i.e CCAB, AAT or part qualified CCAB and have good knowledge of local government finance as well as a desire for continuous development.
Good communication and computer skills, particularly in relation to corporate finance systems are essential as is the ability to learn quickly and produce a high standard of work within challenging deadlines.
