Cardiff Council aims to provide a high quality, accessible housing finance service. The Service currently has a full time vacancy for a Grade 5 Rent Control, Accounts Officer within the Finance Section of the Adults, Housing and Communities team

About the job

The successful candidate will assist with all rent accounting functions, cash collection and leaseholder service charge functions. Assisting with the creation of rent and sundry debts, and for adjusting various types of accounts.

The team provide numerous statistics and undertake a reconciliation process for charges made and payments received. The section also undertakes the administration of the Tenants Home Content Insurance scheme.

The team undertake work to amend rent and service charge levels in line with guidance and approval and assist with the annual billing of leaseholders.

The role includes creating property records for new and acquired Council homes

This is an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate with an interest in this area of work. You will have a positive can-do attitude, passion for delivering the best outcomes and ability to organise your work effectively and follow complex procedures.

You will have good numeracy skills and pay attention to detail, showing that you can handle financial data accurately.

The successful applicant will need to have experience of working with new technology and have excellent digital skills. You will need to work well within a team, be flexible able to work on your own initiative, and meet deadlines.
