Building Control is a dynamic and varied public service provider specialising in Building Regulations and public safety principally through the Building Act 1985.
As an active member of LABC Services, Cardiff Building Control also works in partnership with local and national companies and local authorities throughout England and Wales to deliver a high quality, competitively priced nationwide service.
About the job
This post is in the Building Control team, which handles a large number and variety of applications relating to new builds, extensions. conversions and dangerous structures. The Team has very good performance and high customer satisfaction levels, which continue to improve each year despite the large caseload.
In helping to effectively manage how Cardiff develops, the post holder will join the Team to provide assistance, supporting Building Control Officers with booking inspections, taking payments and ensuring records are created and updated. Responding to queries by email and phone is also part of the role.

What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can provide efficient and effective assistance to the building control service and manage a busy and a varied workload of general building control enquiries.
You will have good communication skills and have experience of delivering a customer focused service in a professional environment.
Previous experience of working within building control or a related area is desirable.
This vacancy is suitable for post share.
Additional information
This salary is subject to the Living Wage Supplement that tops up the basic rate of pay to £12.00 per hour. The supplement will be reviewed every April. Cardiff Council reserves the right to make any changes to, or removal of, the Living Wage Supplement.
