About The Service
Cardiff Council’s Supported Accommodation service forms part of the Specialist Housing Section providing accommodation, advice, and support to vulnerable single people that are facing homelessness with a range of support needs. This is provided through multiple sites across the city.
Working collaboratively with housing services and MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) (Multi-disciplinary service) our teams provide accommodation and intensive wrap around support services within accommodation services and the community. Working with a dedicated team applying our ethos to create a psychologically informed environment for staff and clients whilst working to provide strength-based support in a trauma informed way. We adopt a sensitive understanding of how adverse childhood experiences may have or be impacting our clients and their choices within services. With a dedication to safeguarding measures within our service being paramount
Our services run 24/7 365 days a year.
Our service area has progressed through a rapid period of change and development. Our successful candidates adaptable to change and will be contributing to this exciting expansion of our service provision.

About the job
This Role has been created through our expansion of services and has been developed to assist Supported Accommodation Manager’s to manage one or more buildings, within the authorities Single Persons Supported Accommodation service. To be a part of a fresh and creative team working together to contribute to Cardiff Council’s vision of reducing rough sleeping through ensuring our accommodation voids are managed effectively and being a part of new accommodation projects and the modification of existing accommodation to meet the demands of our service.
The role will include.
To deputise in the day to day running of accommodation providing support to accommodation managers.
To provide direction, coaching and guidance to the team of Supported Accommodation Officers, identifying areas for development and training needed
To review systems of work and ensure their designated project is up to date on; fire safety, health and safety, Housing Benefit and building compliance.
To ensure excellent customer service is always provided, that staff are listening and empathising with customers and showing a desire to help and always support.
To play a part in the management team and continuous improvement of the service

The successful candidate will have experience working within a housing related service and have proven experience of providing housing advice, building management and extensive support working with vulnerable clients with complex support needs.
You will be able foster excellent working relationships with a multi-agency approach to enhance our support services provided and be able to extend your knowledge and experience to support our growth and develop our team to enhance our provision.
