About The Service
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our Finance Team in Adults, Housing and Communities.
The role sits in Adult Services in our Brokerage Team, we work with vulnerable adults who are 18 and over who require a care package to be delivered in the community in which they live. The Brokerage Team are responsible for supporting social work teams to source appropriate care providers to help deliver that service. It is a pivotal team in the department ensuring we provide the correct support at the right time to our service users.
About the job
You will work in a team of 4 Brokerage Officers, sourcing and arranging approved packages of care with domiciliary care providers for individual service users, in line with Adult Services policies, processes and procedures.
You will work closely with social work teams, team managers and also care providers to set standards and deadlines to support timely placement of care packages. A number of software packages are utilised to support this process, and full training will be given to the successful applicant.
This post if offered under a permanent contract at 37 hours per week, 8.30 to 5pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.30 to 4.30 on a Friday. We primarily work from home, with some hybrid working with days in the office at County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff when required. IT equipment for home working is provided.
What We Are Looking For From You
You will need to demonstrate excellent customer care skills, clear verbal and written communication skills, proven IT skills, the ability to produce accurate work and have proven organisational skills.
Experience of using Adam sproc.net and Carefirst will be desirable.
The work involves a range of tasks, and you would need to be willing to work flexibly as part of a team, able to work under pressure in a busy environment, and be committed to provide the best service possible to meet changing customer needs.
The ability to use Welsh in the workplace would also be desirable.
The post also includes contributing to the ongoing improvement and development of an efficient and effective brokerage service.
The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, and Community Languages would be an advantage.
