An exciting opportunity has arisen within Housing & Communities Service Area for a part-time (22.5hours a week) temporary Business Support Officer within the Responsive Repairs Unit.

About the job

The Responsive Repairs Unit are responsible for the maintenance of all Cardiff Council domestic housing stock, including Temporary Accommodation, Community Living Complexes, hostels, individual rooms and communal areas of blocks of flats. 

What We Are Looking For From You

The successful candidate will be responsible to provide effective management of the administration team and also provide management information to support service development whilst working closely with the Workforce Plan and Co-ordination Manager.

You will have excellent communication and organisation skills, with the ability to train, develop and maintain a team. You will be able to work in a busy office environment where taking telephone calls is a key part of the role. You will also be able to work to strict deadlines and be extremely flexible.  You will have experience of working with IT systems and the ability to work as part of a team is essential as well as your using own initiative. You will need to be well-organised and able to work on your own initiative, as well as working as part of a team. 

The successful candidate will have experience working within a maintenance environment and knowledge of repairs scheduling and administration procedures.

This post is 22.5 hours per week and the salary is £18,107 per annum. The salary shown however relates to 37 hours per week and will therefore be pro-rata’d accordingly.

Please note - This role is part-time for 22.5 hours per week. The advertised salary is based on 37 hours per week and will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. The actual salary for this position will range from £18,107 to £20,642 per annum.

This is a temporary post until 31st March 2026.
