About The Service

This is an exciting time to join Cardiff Council’s Development and Regeneration Service area. We are directly responding to Cardiff’s housing need by implementing a large scale and award winning new build programme capable of delivering 4,000 new homes and investing significantly in our existing communities. We are also upgrading environments through estate regeneration schemes, public realm improvements and District and Local Shopping Centre improvements.

 

Due to the continues success and growth within the Service Area, we are increasing the resources within the Business Team by recruiting an additional Business Support Officer.

About the job

The successful candidate will support and assist in managing and improving the Development & Regeneration Business Support Team covering a wide area of duties and responsibilities.

You will provide a first class customer service, assisting in improving the Development & Regeneration Business Support Team. The post holder will manage numerous mailboxes, provide support on budget management, oversee corporate processes and procedures, and supporting the Development and Regeneration Programmes.

You will be responsible for the support of capital and revenue budgets cross various programmes within Development and Regeneration, liaising with Budget Holders and updating detailed spreadsheets. You will also be responsible for raising Purchase Orders on SAP, processing payments and updating spreadsheets.

In addition, you will coordinating cabinet queries, FOIs and customer queries and complaints, ensuring timescales are met.

We want to ensure that we are prioritising customer care throughout our projects.

What We Are Looking For From You

The post holder will have excellent communication and coordination skills, with significant experience and knowledge on IT Systems (particularly Microsoft Excel). Ideally you will have knowledge and experience of SAP, or a similar database.

You will also need to have proven organisation skills to deal with the wide range of duties and responsibilities required, as well as being able to work under pressure on your own initiative.
