Ardal is a new procurement collaboration across the four local authorities serving the people and communities of Cardiff, Monmouthshire, Torfaen and the Vale of Glamorgan. Annual spend on goods, services and works across the four authorities is over £1 billion per annum.
About the job
The main responsibilities and requirements of the roles are to:
• Direct and co-ordinate sourcing activity across the relevant Category team and managing the respective team.
• Effective engagement with devolved officers who have little or no procurement knowledge and expertise.
• Ensure effective contract and supplier relationship management to maximise value for money, which will include financial, environmental and social outcomes.
• Deliver and implement category management and relevant sourcing strategies.
• Deliver targeted savings across the assigned categories / sub-categories.
• Provide advice and guidance to support the framework members, category team members and Service Area staff with respect to procurement procedures and processes.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking to appoint self-motivated individuals who will have procurement experience gained primarily from the public sector although this is not essential. This experience could be across a broad range of spend categories.

A hybrid working environment with an ability and freedom to work on an agile basis both in the office at County Hall in Cardiff Bay and at home.
