About The Service

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual with excellent customer service skills to assist with managing, supervising and supporting the security team at Central Library Hub. The successful applicant will manage the Porter/Security Assistant team and all security aspects of Central Library Hub.

About the job

You will assist in providing a safe, calm and managed environment for both staff and public to enjoy. You will have excellent knowledge of security risk and management and have confidence in dealing with escalations professionally. For this you will have experience of working in a security and customer service environment.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will have building management experience, and previous responsibility of key holding.

You will have computer skills to enable you to communicate via email, Microsoft teams and produce reports when required. You will oversee your teams training and development plan to ensure team progression and resilience. Ideally you will have experience of managing or supervising staff, and have the ability to coordinate a front line service.

You will have experience mentoring, carrying out checks, resolving more complex enquiries and disputes in a positive and constructive manner.

You will liaise with other partners and agencies to ensure a co-ordinated service is provided.

Additional information

The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, Somali, Arabic or Polish would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will also play a lead role in promoting qualities for the service as a whole. This role will be a working floor supervisor, you will be required to work on a rota basis to include Saturdays and weekends: shifts will be variable according to needs of the service. The location of work may vary.
