CF11 Fitness based at Channel View Leisure Centre is looking to employ a Centre Assistant – Gym Instructor based at the centre in Jim Driscoll Way, Grangetown, Cardiff CF11 7HB

The Centre Assistant will work alongside the existing workforce in the Councils only council run leisure centre.

Delivering on our commitment to bring exercise and training to all ages and abilities, and raise awareness of the benefits and lifestyle of Health & Fitness.

About the job

In this Centre Assistant role you will support our service.

The role will be to provide general instruction/coaching in the use of gym equipment, following an extensive refurbishment of the leisure centre. The role will also ensure the facilities are kept to a high standard for all users and maintained to the satisfaction of management, with regular monitoring of all the areas of the centre a priority.

There is also a responsibility to open and close the centre when the line manager is not on shift

The health and fitness area offers a fantastic range of cardiovascular, resistance and functional exercise equipment.

Weekend and evening working will be required on a shift basis and ability to be flexible to cover other shifts as and when required.

The successful applicant will have good communication skills with the ability to adapt and learn quickly. 

A positive and customer focused attitude is essential as you will be working with customers on a face-to-face basis. You will need to work well in a team and have a flexible approach as when you can’t resolve customer enquiries you may need to communicate with other team members.

This post is full time and will work 37 hours per week but would also be suitable for a job share by splitting the hours or designated shifts.
