About The Service
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Housing and Communities Early Help service to recruit a Childcare Business Support Officer. This part-time, temporary post is currently funded until 31st May 2025.
You will be part of an established Childcare Business Support Team who provide advice, support and guidance to the childcare sector. The Team administers grant funding programmes, deliver training and support and assess a range of quality assurance schemes for childcare providers.
About the job
The post-holder will work as part of the Childcare Business Support Team, with specific responsibility for the administration of the Capital Small Grants Scheme, and work to support a range of childcare settings to engage with the expansion of Flying Start childcare across Cardiff.
What We Are Looking For From You
Applicants must have considerable experience of working in or with the childcare sector. Knowledge of the work of the Care Inspectorate Wales and the National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare is essential, as is an understanding of childcare business models. Experience of operating grant funding processes, and reporting on the uses of public funds are also required for this role.

This part-time, temporary post is grant funded until 31st May 2025, in the first instance.
Internal candidates who wish to apply for this position on a secondment basis must obtain approval prior to application using Form SEC1 (4.C.081). Requests may only be approved by the relevant Director/ Assistant Director/ Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Head teacher / Governing Body.
The post holder will be required to work on an hybrid basis.
