Children’s Services are looking for a dynamic, proactive individual who is interested in joining our Complaints team and have responsibility for the management of the complaints process.
About the job
This is an 18.5-hour part time post which will be part of a job share. This role is hybrid working essentially although there may be some requirement to attend the office occasionally.
This role will help ensure that complaints and enquiries are managed in a timely manner, in line with the regulations and guidance set out by Welsh Government. The post holder will take responsibility for the management of member enquiries and all other correspondence. This role will be responsible for the management of the complaint officers, including supervision, appraisal, recruitment, induction, disciplinary etc. and overall team development and morale, in line with Council policy.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and be able to perform in a fast-paced work setting to ensure timely and good quality responses are sent in line with statutory guidelines and corporate procedures. You will be able to use your experience and creativity to support senior managers to draft responses and to develop action plans. You will represent Children’s Services with external bodies including managing all aspects of Ombudsmen enquiries and liaising with advocacy services.

Requests may only be approved by the relevant Director/ Assistant Director/ Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body.
This post is part time and will work 18.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. The salary shown however relates to 37 hours per week and will therefore be pro-rata'd accordingly.
