About The Service

The Project Management Team within the Building Improvement Unit of Housing & Communities is responsible for the sourcing strategy and procurement of suitable arrangements for the provision of building maintenance services to include responsive repairs, vacant repairs, planned works and disabled adaptations; and the contract management of such arrangements.

About the job

The role is very diverse and involves the procurement of suitable arrangements for building maintenance services in accordance with both Council and legislative requirements,’ and effectively communicating and working with the teams who utilise the arrangements to ensure that the arrangements are fit for purpose. The role also involves the management of appointed contractors in accordance with the terms and conditions of the relevant frameworks. This includes review of performance data, creation of contractor performance reports, managing contractor improvement plans and the claiming of performance deductions where a contractor fails to achieve the required level of performance. It will also be a requirement to provide administrative organisation and support to the project team including taking minutes for meetings with a variety of stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For From You

The successful candidate will be well organised and have the ability to show initiative. They will be able to work well with others and have the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders. They will have the ability to analyse information and identify trends or anomalies. They will be able to use Microsoft word, outlook and excel, and have the ability to create spreadsheets using basic formulas. They will have the ability to manage a diverse set of tasks and to prioritise and delegate to ensure team objectives are achieved. It is desirable that the candidate has an understanding of procurement principles and practical experience of public sector procurement.
