Cardiff Council’s 24/7 Services unit is home to a Category 2, ISO 9001 accredited Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), which offers a comprehensive range of security and response services for Cardiff Council properties including:
• Key holding
• Alarm monitoring
• Access Control
• Remote CCTV monitoring
• Mobile security service
About the job
You will oversee the day-to-day control centre function in a busy ARC as well as the mobile response service.
You will be responsible for the provision of a 24–hour services which offer a response to crisis situations, safety, and security to citizens. The role is also responsible for strategic and operational management of a public safety CCTV service.

The role requires a confident communicator, who can take ownership of queries/incidents and deliver high quality customer service. We are looking for a strong and resilient manager who enjoys challenge.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing a diverse team of people, some of which will be working at locality settings. Having an excellent knowledge of the technical and operational requirements to deliver a groundbreaking service, the successful candidate will also help influence and shape the future development of the service.
The post holder will collaborate with key stakeholders, working with colleagues in Housing to make neighbourhoods and estates a clean and pleasant place to live and law enforcement agencies, ensuring the appropriate level of response to incidents and providing a level of reassurance to the citizens of Cardiff & The Vale of Glamorgan.
