About The Service
The Performance and Partnerships Service is responsible for a wide range of corporate functions which support the Council as a whole, and its public service partners.
It is responsible for supporting the Council to deliver its ambitious agenda by translating political priorities into organisational objectives with a focus on supporting policy development, policy delivery and ensuring open and transparent decision making.
Based within the People and Communities Directorate, this will be an opportunity to work as part of a talented and dedicated team on a range of public policy issues.
About the job
The Deputy Cabinet Business Manager will provide assistance to and formally deputise for the Corporate Policy and Cabinet Office Business Manager. Providing support for; the Cabinet Business process, the Council’s Senior Management Team, and assist with the coordination of a range of strategic delivery boards.
You will be part of a highly motivated, dedicated, and supportive team, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work and supporting public service delivery. There will be ample opportunity for personal and professional development, including training relevant to the role.
You will also provide a comprehensive personal assistance and administrative support to Cabinet Members, working as part of a small team to provide high level, effective support in all aspects of Cabinet Member duties.
The Council has adopted hybrid working practices which apply to this role, meaning most of the work can be undertaken either in the office, at home, or at another suitable location. There will still be a requirement to visit the office occasionally for certain meetings as needed.

What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for an individual with strong verbal communication and writing skills, with the ability to research reports, and present information clearly and effectively for a range of different audiences, from senior managers to end users.
You will have experience of working with elected members, senior managers and will have experience of supporting strategic meetings at a senior level, and have a good understanding of corporate governance.
A good level of ICT competency will be a pre-requisite, specifically, familiarity with Microsoft Office. Experience of more specialist tools, such as Halo and Modern.gov would be advantageous.
