About The Service
Rent Smart Wales is a service within Cardiff Council, in place to administer the requirements of Part 1 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014, which regulates private rented sector housing in Wales by requiring landlords to register and either become licensed themselves or instruct a licensed agent to undertake letting and property management tasks. The service was established in November 2015.
Rent Smart Wales benefits from web based systems designed with the customer in mind, contact centre telephone technology, partnership arrangements with the 22 authorities across Wales and is being supported by a comprehensive marketing campaign being led by Welsh Government.
About the job
This role is critical to the success of Rent Smart Wales and is a unique opportunity for you to be at the forefront of professionalising the private rented sector. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Deputy Team Leader to assist in the management of Rent Smart Wales and provide a high standard of customer service.
Deputy Team Leaders are required assist in the management of Rent Smart Wales by being partially responsible for the supervision of Licensing Officers, supporting and advising team members and working with managers to ensure the majority of customer enquiries are resolved at the initial point of contact and that the highest level of customer service is achieved.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a customer focussed environment, have excellent communication, planning, prioritisation and analysis skills, be an excellent team player and take an enthusiastic and take a responsible approach to all tasks.
