Cardiff is growing faster than any other capital city in Europe and we have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join Recycling Neighbourhood Service, in the delivery of frontline waste operations providing a high standard of service to the businesses of Cardiff.

About the job

As Digital & Projects Manager, you will be responsible for managing a small team to deliver and implement new and improved systems, services and processes through digitisation and project management.  You will be overseeing service wide projects and embedding of digital services across all areas.

What We Are Looking For From You

The successful candidate will have excellent and advanced project management skills, demonstrating good knowledge of research techniques to ensure business development delivery.  You will have a high level of financial management and be experience of report writing whilst meeting challenging timescales.

 

In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisation skills, being able to work with and understand the needs of vulnerable people.  You will need to be able to multi-task, take ownership of issues and be IT literate in most Microsoft packages.

There are 2 posts available, one is permanent and one is temporary up until 31st March 2026.

Internal candidates who wish to apply for the temporary position on a secondment basis must obtain approval prior to application using Form SEC1 (4.C.081). Requests may only be approved by the relevant Director/ Assistant Director/ Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body.

Working Knowledge of waste and recycling operations is important, however full training will be provided. You will be able to quickly adapt to technologies used by the service. You will need to understand and operate in line with Council Policies and Procedures. You must maintain the reputation of the Council by adopting a professional and courteous approach
