About The Service

Cardiff Councils Support and Accommodation Service provide accommodation, advice and support to vulnerable single people and families in housing need.

Our services run 24/7 365 days a year.

Due to the Covid19 pandemic, our service has had to make large changes and the successful candidates will contribute to the expansion of the service within.

About the job

To provide an effective Diversionary Activities service to homeless and other vulnerable and complex individuals. This includes facilitating and supporting the Diversionary Activities and Volunteer Service in providing innovative ways of assisting people into independence; using a multidisciplinary and multi-organisational approach through therapies, activities, education, leisure, volunteering and employment opportunities.

The role will also include rough sleeper intervention as part of the targeted outreach services, advising and signposting clients on to opportunities and resources open to people experiencing homelessness.

We are looking for dynamic, motivated and creative individuals with the ability to foster positive relationships.

This is an exciting opportunity and we are looking for a variety of people from various working backgrounds to make a real difference. Proven experience of working with people with complex behaviours and an understanding of the issues faced by homeless individuals will be an advantage. We want people with great communication skills that can inspire, enthuse and assist people and groups to realise their potential and to reach independence.

The working environment can be challenging so the ability to remain calm under pressure will be an advantage. The role will require the successful candidate to support the management team with all aspects of the service.
