About The Service

Cardiff Family Advice and Support is an innovative and progressive service within the directorate of Adults, Housing and Communities in Cardiff Council. Recently accredited with a Families First Quality Aware, the service provides high quality information, advice and assistance for children, young people, families and professionals across the city.

The service utilises a family centred, strengths based and inclusive approach, to identify the most appropriate support that will meet the wellbeing needs of both individuals and the family as a whole. The teams within the service work collaboratively with a range of professionals and partners to ensure support is at the right level and at the right time.

About the job

We are seeking to appoint a Grade 7 Family Help Team Leader who will lead, develop and support a team of Family Help Advisors to deliver bespoke early intervention and prevention support to families referred to the team. The postholder will liaise and communicate with a range of service users, including families and professionals, and will also work alongside the Service Manager to support the continued development and quality of service delivery.

  • A comprehensive understanding of the complex needs of children, young people and their families.
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package and of case management systems.

The right individual will also be able to recognise whether an individual is at risk and be able to consult and liaise with Social Workers and with other professionals or partner agencies as required.

This post is temporary until 31st March 2024 with the option of extension subject to funding.
