Flying Start is part of Cardiff’s Early Help Service and is a Welsh Government funded programme targeted at children under 4 years of age and their families who live in certain areas of Cardiff defined by postcode.
About the job
The Flying Start Parenting Groups Facilitator is responsible for supporting the Senior Parenting Groups Facilitator in the effective delivery of a menu of Parenting Programmes based in community venues across Flying Start areas of Cardiff. Delivery includes crèche provision and programmes can be formal following a format over 8-10 weeks or have and informal drop in approach such as Stay and Play sessions.
What we are looking for from you
Candidates must have proven experience of working within a service team or project for Early Years children and their families and lead experience working in a crèche setting.
A L3 qualification in Children’s Care, Learning, Play and Development is essential (see the job description and personal specification for further details relating to qualifications).
A comprehensive understanding of (and enhanced experience in dealing with) safeguarding issues in relation to children and their families is necessary.
Candidates must have excellent communication skills and the ability to establish effective, professional working relationships with families and other professional services
Experience in developing a programme of activities that engage children; meeting individual needs and the child’s developmental stage is necessary.
A clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, as the role requires travel across all areas of the city.
