About The Service
The Cardiff Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School Scheme (CHaSPS) was established in 2011 by the Healthy Schools and Pre-schools team, based in the Education service.
The pre-school team is expanding and its main aim is to support pre-school settings to promote the health and wellbeing of their children, staff and wider community by progressing through the national ‘Healthy and Sustainable Pre-school Scheme’.
About the job
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the Cardiff Healthy and Sustainable Pre-school Scheme (CHaSPS), with a particular focus on the areas of nutrition / healthy eating and physical activity.
You will be involved in recruiting new pre-school settings to the scheme and supporting them to progress by meeting with setting staff to action plan on the different areas of health and wellbeing. You will provide guidance and training opportunities, develop relevant resources and work closely with partner organisations to help settings achieve their actions. As settings complete each phase of the scheme, you will be involved in carrying out accreditations to ensure the settings have completed each of the criteria. After each meeting with a setting you will be required to compile a report and also keep records for monitoring and evaluation.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for a dynamic individual with experience of working with Early Years settings. You will need to work effectively as part of a team and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to have competent ICT skills to use standard packages such as ‘Word’ and ‘Excel’, as well as email.

This post is externally funded on a temporary basis until 31st March 2022, but this may be extended subject to further funding.
This post is part time and will work 24 hours per week (term time only). The salary shown however relates to 37 hours per week and will therefore be pro-rata’d accordingly.
