About The Service

The social care training unit has recently restructured in order to meet the training and development needs of Adult and Children’s Services and the wider social care workforce in Cardiff. This is an exciting opportunity to provide an administrative service to the Adult Services Training Officers and the wider administrative team.

About the job

This is a full time post 37 hours pre week.

The postholder will be required to provide a reception service to the central training team and maintain effective business support systems in respect of telephone messages, word processing, maintaining databases, registers, correspondence, minute taking, photocopying, filing and stationery supplies.

The postholder will also be required to upkeep and maintain our external learning database setting up new accounts, marking attendance, inputting course information and running reports.

This role also requires the provision of administrative support to the team for example by producing and sending ad hoc letters and template letters. The successful person will also be required to cover the office as part of a rota to help support training events that are being run from the centre. Other duties will involve organising calendars, scheduling meetings, providing support to the Training Officers and Team Manager to record information within the human resource computerised system.

The postholder will also be required to assist the Manager with the commissioning of training as and when required.

What We Are Looking For From You

We are looking for someone with a proven experience of dealing with the public. You will need to possess an ability to be able to deal with a variety of tasks and demands relevant to the post.

You must have skills in the use of database/financial systems, word processing skills. You must be able to communicate in an accurate, concise and sensitive way. You must be able to organise and prioritise your own workload.

A knowledge of services available to vulnerable adults would be desirable but not essential.

A commitment to producing quality work and ability to use initiative are essential to this post.
