The Civil Parking Enforcement Team undertake the enforcement of parking and moving traffic offences across Cardiff. They currently have a vacancy for a permanent Moving Traffic Enforcement Officer to undertake camera enforcement across the city.
About the job
The core function of this role will require you to operate camera enforcement equipment and drive mobile enforcement vehicles to enforce relevant parking and traffic regulations.
The post holder will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and assessing video footage of potential parking and traffic contraventions against the Councils assessment criteria. This will involve identifying bus lane, parking, and moving traffic offences. Identify and make decisions on any contraventions and initiate statutory processes.
- Undertaking patrols in the Camera Car to identify illegal parking around schools and other restricted areas. Issue Penalty Charge Notices in accordance with current legislation.
What We Are Looking For From You
- The post holder must at all times hold a full motor vehicle driving licence.
- The post holder must hold or successfully achieve the City & Guilds Civil Enforcement Officer qualification – full training is provided.
- The post holder, where appropriate, will be required to wear approved uniform whilst on duty.
- The post holder will be requested to undertake occasional overtime work to cover absence through leave, sickness, and when events are in progress in the city.
- The post is subject to Disclosure and Barring service Standard checks.

Additional information
This post is permanent, full time, and will work 37 hours per week. The salary is £23,893 - £25,979 per annum.
