About The Service
The National Adoption Service (NAS) is the Wales wide collaboration of all local authority adoption services in Wales (split into 5 regional services) working in partnership and with Welsh voluntary adoption agencies (VAA) and other services. Together 5 regional adoption services and 3 VAAs ensure the continual development and improvement of services to best meet the needs of children in need of, and placed for adoption, prospective and approved adopters as well as adult adoptees and birth families.
About the job
The purpose of this role is to lead on the ongoing development and improvement of adoption support services across Wales in line with the ‘Adoption Support Framework’ and Adoption Support Commitment which have been developed by the National Adoption Service.
This is an exciting time for adoption services in Wales as we continue our aims to make a real difference to those who need adoption support. We are seeking interest from either experienced managers or senior practitioners who understand adoption services and are able to develop effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and agencies.
Central team staff are employed by Cardiff Council on a hybrid basis.
What We Are Looking For From You
As a member of the NAS Central Team based in Cardiff but working flexibly across Wales with NAS regions and Voluntary Adoption Agencies (VAA’s) the post holder will be responsible for overseeing the ongoing development and implementation of the framework on a national, regional and partnership basis.
The Framework is founded in what adopters and adopted children and young people have told us they want and need from adoption support services so maintaining a dialogue and a co-production approach with our service users will be important.

This post is part time and will work 18.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. The salary shown however relates to 37 hours per week and will therefore be pro-rata'd accordingly.
