About The Service
Sitting within the Planning, Transport & Environment Directorate, the Building Control Team are responsible for delivering Building Regulation and Public Safety related services. Building Regulation related projects are highly variable and include city centre and Cardiff Bay developments, healthcare, commercial, industrial and domestic projects across the city. In addition the service is responsible for public safety functions in relation to sports grounds, dangerous structures, demolition projects.
About the job
As a Technical Administrative and Support Officer in the Building Control Team, you will support the development and administration of Building Regulation and public safety related projects. In an exciting and transformational period for the City’s development and growth, you will be placed at the heart of a busy Building Control team, you will work with the team to take things forward and build upon some of the innovations already delivered. You will work with the Building Control management team and on individual projects within Building Control business development programme and gain experience of supporting key aspects of the business. You will be responsible for supporting Building Control Surveyors, working on consultations and using project support tools such as the Building Control database, and IT software programmes to help drive the business forward.
