An opportunity has arisen in the PROW & Assessment team that forms part of the Assets and Engineering service area which supports delivery of the Councils Highway Maintenance function.
About the job
The successful candidate will assist in the development and delivery of the annual highway capital works programmes for carriageway and footway improvements. Duties include; undertaking engineering inspections and condition surveys, providing on-site representation and supervision and the investigation and resolution of customer complaints. This role will involve a high level of interaction with stakeholders, including; Council Members, public, contractors and other Council departments. The post holder may be required to work outside normal hours from time to time, including evenings and weekends
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will hold a HNC/HND or similar qualification in civil engineering or be able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience in this discipline. You will have experience of working in highway maintenance with strong customer service skills. Experience of highway surfacing techniques and condition assessment would be an advantage.
