An exciting opportunity has arisen within Major Projects, Economic Development to recruit a Senior Project Manager with operational management responsibility to co-ordinate the Council’s input into major strategic projects for the Council at Atlantic Wharf delivering the new Indoor Arena and the multi-storey car park.
You will be part of a newly formed project team responsible for delivering a large-scale transformational project, responsible for the wider Atlantic Wharf regeneration programme working with internal and external stakeholders.
About the job
The role of the Senior Project Manager is to ensure the Council meets the objectives set out as part of the Council's obligations for delivering the new Indoor Arena and the associated multi-storey car park.
The main purpose of the role will involve leading and managing multiple workstreams, ensuring effective project governance and co-ordinating with key stakeholders at all levels.
You will be responsible for constantly revising and adapting the Arena and associated car parking strategy for delivering a Service which takes account not only of the intra-authority pressures, but also relates to the needs and aspirations of the people of Cardiff and to staff and resources available, or potentially available, to meet those needs.
What We Are Looking For From You
The post holder will need excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills as well as the ability to lead, successfully plan and manage a complex, large scale project to meet objectives and deadlines.
Using a range of project management tools you will deliver this high profile, transformational project acting as the key conduit between Council services and external partners. You should have experience of working within a change environment and a commitment to service delivery to quality and cost standards
The post holder will help inform effective decision making and maintain alignment with key Council strategies and dependencies.
