About The Service

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual to lead our Partnership Delivery Team. The aim of the role is to oversee the management of grant income received totalling over £50m annually and to arrange contracts and grants with a range of service delivery partners.  The Partnership Delivery Team manage a range of Welsh Government Grants including the Housing Support Grant, Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (VAWDASV) Grant, the Children and Communities Grant and the new Shared Prosperity Grant.

About the job

The successful applicant will oversee the development and implementation of contracts and grants to third sector and statutory partners.  A key element of the role is to proactively develop and maintain effective joint working arrangements between a variety of partners across Cardiff, joining up and improving the delivery of preventative, protective and supportive services for vulnerable people in the city, in line with the Council’s strategic aims as well as those of the Welsh Government and UK Government.

 

The successful applicant will directly manage a staff team and work closely with other managers across the Directorate and the wider Council, as well as with key partners including Health, Police, Probation, and the third sector.

 

As part of the transformation agenda the post holder will also assist in the wider range of operational planning, development and implementation of key work programmes that support the strategic direction of the Council’s Corporate plan, Wellbeing plan and Community Safety plan.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will have demonstrable experience of managing contracts and grants, awareness of different terms and conditions and an understanding of financial controls and relevant legislation in Wales and the UK. You will have experience of managing staff and resources and the ability to deliver change effectively. The role will involve working with internal and external partners to ensure activity is delivered successfully, therefore excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.

 

The successful applicant will need to have experience of working with new technology and have excellent digital skills. You will need to work well within a busy team and be able to work on your own initiative and to set deadlines.

The post is temporary until 30th March 2025.
