About The Service

This position is within the Pay Team section of Human Resources. The Pay Team provide a comprehensive payroll service to all Council employees. Our primary objective is to ensure employees receive all pay due in a timely and accurate manner This will be in accordance with employee’s terms and conditions of employment.

About the job

The successful candidate will process and verify payroll data in accordance with terms and conditions of employment within the agreed timetable.

You will be required to verify and correct payroll output to ensure accuracy of net pay including of benefits. Allowances and statutory and non- statutory deductions.

You will be required to deal with payroll related enquiries as appropriate for employees, managers HMRC and other agencies whilst always maintaining confidentiality

What We Are Looking For From You

Applicants should have experience / knowledge in payroll processes and understanding of Statutory and Non-Statutory deductions

Excellent numeracy, literacy, IT, and customer service skills are essential. The ability to communicate with staff at all levels verbally or written. Prioritise tasks, undertake varied work to strict deadlines as well as working under pressure at key times. Work well in a team as well working on your own initiative

Additional information

This post is part time and will work 27 hours per week. The pro-rata salary is £18,376 per annum.

The successful candidate will be required to based their working pattern as required to ensure there is no impact on service delivery
