About The Service
Children’s Play Services is part of Cardiff Council’s Early Help team. The service provides local children and young people (aged five to fourteen) with quality, challenging, friendly and fun places to play regardless of their background or ability. The play we offer is child-centred, giving children and young people access to a wide range of activities and experiences. We offer free play opportunities which enable children to choose their preferred activity.
Our community play teams operate both open and closed access play schemes across Cardiff all year round. Open access schemes are free, drop-in play sessions where children and young people are supervised whilst on site and participating in their choice of activities. Closed access sessions are delivered for specific groups such as schools, young carers, children with disabilities and those living in hostels.
Children’s Play Service also provide a range of play projects and events throughout the year. Including National Playday event which takes annually every August, for all children across Cardiff.
