About The Service

This is an exciting time to join the Council’s Development and Regeneration team. We are working hard to help shape the delivery of regeneration schemes across the city and increase investment within our local communities.

We are focused on improving our local and district shopping centres and delivering the ‘15 minute city’ agenda throughout our communities. We are delivering regeneration projects across our housing estates, increasing and improving community facilities and Hub provision and are working collaboratively with partners such as Cardiff & Vale Health Board and Welsh Government to maximise funding opportunities and deliver projects that make a real difference to people in the city.

Due to the increasing range of exciting projects and programmes to be taken forward, we are recruiting five project managers to help design and deliver our extensive work programmes. We need the right people with relevant experience and who share our passion for engaging with our communities to join our team and help deliver our aspirations.

About the job

The successful post holders will play a key role in the design and delivery of our regeneration programmes and projects. They will be responsible for managing projects from inception through to implementation and handover.

There is a strong focus on strategic partnerships with external organisations, Welsh Government and wider council departments. You will work alongside the existing regeneration team and will work closely with external stakeholders, businesses and residents to design and deliver our work.

What We Are Looking For From You

The post holders will have experience in regeneration or development and experience of successfully managing capital projects at a pre contract stage, including the development of project briefs and the procurement of consultants.

The successful candidates will have good communication skills, with an ability to analyse complex issues and work effectively in partnership to propose effective solutions. To help ensure that communities and relevant stakeholders are engaged with our projects you will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with people such as business owners, ward councillors and residents.

The right individuals will share our vision of delivering quality, sustainable regeneration programmes and have the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
