We currently have 2 vacancies for the post of Project Manager – Direct Delivery
Due to a service area restructure an exciting opportunity has arisen within the new Design, Construction and Maintenance (DCM) Team for a number of Project Managers to ensure the successful delivery of building maintenance works across the Council’s building estate from job inception through to completion.
The newly established DCM Team is responsible for designing and delivering a wide range of building related projects across the Council’s school and corporate building estates. The Team adopts a multi discipline approach to ensure that the Council’s broad range of policy objectives are fully considered. In this regard, the Council’s sustainability, energy, health and safety, waste, carbon reduction goals along with its social inclusion, community benefits, wellbeing and accessibility objectives are all considered and applied to deliver projects on time, within cost and to the required quality.
About the job
The primary purpose of the role is to ensure the successful delivery of building maintenance works across the Council’s building estate from job inception through to completion. This will require the Project Managers to undertake: job planning; risk management; scoping/design/job development; tendering/pricing; stakeholder relationship management, and the management/supervision of both external contractors and an internal DLO to ensure works are completed to a consistently high standard in accordance with the customers requirements.

What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for an appropriately qualified individual with good experience in planned and responsive building maintenance, contract management and supervision across a variety of building types including schools.
The successful candidate will also have:
- Ideally, good technical knowledge and experience of mechanical maintenance techniques and well as a good all round knowledge and experience of building maintenance;
- demonstrable knowledge of relevant legislation and/or Codes of Practice i.e. Construction, Building Regulations and Health & Safety;
- practical experience of risk identification and management, particularly those of a health and safety nature, and
- strong personal organisational skills with an ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload within a constantly changing environment.
