An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual to join Cardiff Adult Services as a Project Manager to take the lead role in delivering the implementation of the Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) in Cardiff.

This post is subject to grant funding and will initially be until 31st May 2024.

About the job

The successful applicant will lead and manage the implementation of the Liberty Protection Safeguards in Cardiff which will involve close partnership working across the local authority and with health colleagues and other relevant agencies.

The successful applicant will work alongside other managers within a range of service areas in the Council and key partners including Health and other agencies. The role will involve taking a lead on the implementation project to achieve the required outcomes.
The post holder will also oversee service commissioning and project mobilisation, ensuring strategic alignment with the aims and objectives of any guidance and funding criteria.

As part of the transformation agenda the post holder will also assist in the wider range of operational planning, development and implementation of LPS to ensure that Cardiff Council is able to fulfil is legal responsibilities.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will have project management experience and the ability to deliver change effectively. The role will involve working with internal and external partners to ensure the project is delivered successfully, therefore excellent communication and organisational skills are essential. You will have experience of managing significant budgets and resources. The postholder will have the ability to work with stakeholders on the project to ensure engagement and support.

Experience and knowledge of legislation and related policies and protocols in relation to mental health, social care or housing would be an advantage. The successful applicant will need to have experience of working with new technology and have excellent digital skills. You will need to work well within a team and be able to work on your own initiative.

The post is temporary until 31st May 2024.
