About The Service
The Protocol Office is responsible for the development and coordination of the Council's corporate and civic engagement calendar whilst also providing essential wrap around support to The Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor of Cardiff, enabling him/her to carry out required civic and ceremonial duties as First Citizen of Cardiff. In addition, the team also provides advice and guidance on matters of protocol to the Mayoralty and the wider-Council, has responsibility for coordinating engagements and programmes for special visitors to the county and supports the Lord Mayor's annually nominated charity.
About the job
The Protocol Officer (Administration) will play a key role in contributing to the organisation of, and attendance at, civic and corporate events and will support the Senior Protocol Officer in the delivery of the above.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated with a willingness to learn and develop new skills. You will have extensive experience of working in an admin role and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications. You will have experience of working with external agencies and stakeholders and you will have a high standard of literacy and numeracy with an ability to communicate confidently and precisely. You will be an effective team player who is methodical and organised with experience of working on your own to achieve targets within firm deadlines.
Additional information
This role will include occasional evening/weekend work, and attendance at meetings/site visits at a variety of different venues.
This post is temporary until 15th April 2023.
