About The Service
The Allocations and Rehousing Unit is a busy and challenging service which is focused on providing housing solutions to the most vulnerable clients in Cardiff. There is a need to consider and develop a wider range of housing options with the focus of prevention and relief of homelessness through the private rented sector.
About the job
Demands on the Service are continually increasing and there is a need for a Development Manager to develop a range of housing options, including the Private Rented Sector Leasing Scheme and Housing Solutions Private Rented Sector Package. The post holder will manage Housing Support move-on options, and be responsible for building on and expanding relationships with private landlords with the focus on increasing housing options available to clients.
The post holder will be expected to adopt best practice and develop initiates which are viewed as innovative and highly effective within this area of service delivery.
The post holder will also have experience of managing a busy team, and will be responsible for ensuring that service objectives, targets and quality standards are met whilst meeting high levels of customer service.
What We Are Looking For From You
Experience of working with the public, in a housing related environment will be an advantage. The post holder will have a sound knowledge of housing and homeless legislation, the private rented sector in the locality, housing policy and practice, and also have experience of developing processes and procedures. The post holder will also have the skills to develop and progress partnership working, and to build on any existing relationships.
The post holder will be required to work until 19:00 hours to meet the demands of a very busy service.
