About The Service
We are restructuring the social services workforce learning and development functions to better meet the needs of Adult and Children’s Services and the wider social care sector in Cardiff. The new central training unit will have responsibility for developing and implementing training policies, strategies, plans, processes, procedures and activities which are appropriate to, and meet the current and future needs of Adult and Children’s Services staff and the external social care workforce, to promote competent, confident and appropriately qualified workers within our local social care sector.
About the job
This is a part-time, 18.5hrs per week post. The post holder will be responsible for supporting and facilitating the achievement of qualifications and registration of social care workers in the Council's internal services and in the wider external social care sector in Cardiff.
Key areas of responsibility include advising employers on the training and development needs of the Health and Social Care qualifications and registration requirements, taking part in the development and implementation of a comprehensive workforce development plan for the statutory, private and not-for profit social care sectors and acting as a qualification support lead for Social Care managers and workers of social services – supporting individuals and groups with workbooks to assist with registration with Social Care Wales.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification in Care, Social Care and Health OR Social Work (at least to Level 3) and the A1, D32/33 or TAQA Assessor award.
We are looking for someone with proven experience of working in a social care setting, experience of assessment and assessment processes in social care and knowledge and understanding of the Qualification Framework for Health and Social Care at Levels 1-5
A good understanding of the various standards against which care services are measured is essential.
