About The Service

We are seeking a Section Leader to manage the Civil Parking Enforcement Teams. The role is within the Network Operations Team and will have line management responsibility for the civil parking enforcement team, moving traffic team, clamping enforcement and blue badge enforcement officers.

About the job

You will directly manage 5 Senior Parking Enforcement Officers, who manage upwards of 50 Civil Enforcements Officers, 6 Moving Traffic Officers, 2 clamping officers and a blue badge enforcement officer. Your role will be to ensure enforcement across the city is delivered in a strategic, effective and efficient way to meet both our customer’s needs and the requirements of the Council.

Provide support to the Team Leader by leading and supporting a section of technical and/or operational staff in the delivery of a high quality and effective enforcement service that achieves the objectives set by the Directorate.

You will work across/with teams to ensure a joined up working approach is undertaken and will be responsible for answering public and councillor enquiries regarding the legislation and operations that the enforcement team enforce under and providing reports to senior management.

The successful candidates have a real opportunity to help shape how enforcement is undertaken across the city.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will have a proven record of excellent people management skills, driven to improve service delivery operations. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus very good organisational skills.

A desire to improve enforcement service delivery, to lead change, in line with best practice and to ensure flexibility in meeting operational requirements.

A background in parking and moving traffic enforcement would be advantageous but not essential.

You must meet all of the personal specification requirements and have all of the skills needed to undertake this role.
