A temporary position as Grade 6 Senior Civil Enforcement Officer has arisen within the Civil Parking Enforcement Team. The contract will run until 31st March 2025 and may continue beyond this time, subject to funding.
About the job
The post holder will be responsible for:
- The efficient deployment, management, and performance of the Civil Enforcement Officers in accordance with the enforcement strategy and deployment rota.
- Patrolling the areas where on and off-street parking is in operation in the city in accordance with the enforcement strategy and deployment rota.
- Identify instances of parking in contravention of restrictions and issuing Penalty Charge Notices in accordance with the operating practices within the Enforcement Officers Manual.
- Approving the clamping and removal of vehicles and blue badge enforcement in accordance with the operating practices within the Enforcement Officers Manual.
- Deputising for the Section Leader as required during periods of absence.
What We Are Looking For From You
The position is subject to a shift pattern on a rolling 4-week basis covering from 7am until 10pm.
In compensation for this shift pattern, this post is currently eligible for a shift allowance, plus payments for any weekend, bank holiday and after 8pm working. The additional payments currently total the equivalent of an additional 23% of the salary (full time equivalent).

The position is subject to a Basic Disclosure and Barring check and the post holder must hold a full driving licence and the City and Guilds (or equivalent) qualification in Civil Parking Enforcement.
This post is temporary until 31st March 2025.
Internal candidates who wish to apply for this position on a secondment basis must obtain approval prior to application using Form SEC1 (4.C.081).
