About The Service
The Managed Accommodation Service forms part of the Specialist Housing Section and provides High quality, long term affordable accommodation to those that have faced or experienced homelessness. Through multiple locations across Cardiff, site management deliver the following provisions:
- Dedicated housing management service
- Repairs and maintenance service
- Support Services
The service is a new way of meeting the needs of those who require accommodation, creating an exciting opportunity for individuals to join the team as the service develops and grows in the future.
About the job
We are recruiting for both Permanent and Temporary Senior Managed Accommodation Service Officer roles.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of Managed Accommodation Services and will have line management responsibility for a staff team.
The Senior Managed Accommodation Service Officer will be responsible for:
Managing properties within the Council’s Managed Accommodation service, offering accommodation over multiple sites.
Managing and co-ordinating the health and safety of the Managed Accommodation sites and other supported accommodation services.
Accommodating service users, with a range of support and managing staff members.
Management and control of the service budget
Involved in the development of new accommodation and sites.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate experience of managing Accommodation sites and have a sound understanding of delivering Support Services within a Multi-disciplinary context.
You will be a driven person, showing a commitment to the service with the ability to foster positive relationships with partner organisations.
Management of health and safety within residential buildings or a similar environment would be advantageous.
The post holder will be expected to maintain and develop their knowledge regarding legislation and introduce new initiatives and procedures to drive forward standards across the service.

This role will form part of on call rota, outside of normal office hours.
A full and valid driving licence and access to own vehicle is an essential requirement of this role.

Requests may only be approved by the relevant Director/ Assistant Director/ Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Head teacher / Governing Body.
