We are developing our practice to ensure it is strength based, trauma informed, restorative, research led and family focused. This will involve a change in culture across the whole of the directorate that will be supported by our new Training and Development Framework driven by this post holder. This change will start with staff induction, continue with support for social workers in their first year in practice and provide ongoing support for career progression. We will ensure ongoing learning and development using our Quality Assurance Framework.

About the job
- To effectively bring together and manage the Quality Assurance, Training & Development and Practice Lead Teams.
- To supervise the staff group, to lead on the operational planning for QA, Practice Lead and learning and development, to ensure this activity is coordinated, actioned, and reported in the required way for DMT and the wider staff group.
- To ensure the appropriate development and delivery of the strategic plans to improve skills, knowledge, and practice across children’s services. To create a structure and assign roles and responsibilities to ensure your team can work efficiently and effectively.
- To inspire and motivate others to achieve the best results and manage your team effectively. To identify problems and issues and find innovative solutions before they become problems.

What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for someone with a Social Work Qualification who is registered with Social Care Wales and can demonstrate post qualifying experience working as a social worker within a statutory social care setting.
You must have experience of the leadership and management of staff, including supervision, performance management and Personal Reviews.
You must have experience of monitoring the day-to-day operations of a service including line management experience.
You must have excellent communication skills and have experience of building relationships with partners and stakeholders.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Both English/Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
