We currently have a vacancy for a Social Worker in the Cardiff and Vale Emergency Duty Team (EDT).
Out of hours enhancement is also payable to staff members in addition to the salary shown.
About the job
Working on a rota covering evenings, weekends and bank holidays the Emergency Duty Team ensures that the Council's statutory responsibilities are undertaken out of hours. These include child protection and mental health act assessments. Our remit is to work closely with our statutory partners to ensure that vulnerable adults and children are protected across Cardiff and the Vale.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, flexible and experienced social worker to be part of this busy team. The candidate should have childcare experience and/or an AMHP qualification with extensive experience in carrying out MHA assessments. They should also have child protection and safeguarding knowledge and practice.

Applications will be accepted from Social Workers in Adult and Childrens Services who are willing to undertake training to become AMHP’s.

This post is part time and will work 18.5 hours per week.

With effect from the 1st April 2021 this post attracts a market supplement of £1000 per annum full time equivalent. This payment is reviewed on a 12 monthly basis.
