About the job

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, the Stakeholder Engagement and Events Manager role will act as a trusted advisor, proactively engaging in regular dialogue with multiple external stakeholders, wider government and internally within CCR, to build alliances and partnerships and raise awareness of CCR activity and impact.

The role will be responsible for:

  • Mapping, tracking, and engaging with stakeholders on an ongoing basis and building a network of brand advocates for CCR.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with political decision makers, senior officers, partnership leads and other key senior stakeholders. There will be a significant amount of liaison with commercial sponsors.
  • Developing and executing internal employee engagement plans.
  • Delivering key stakeholder events ranging from Local Authority events to VIP site visits; from annual investor relations briefings, community engagement forums to industry-focused forums and conferences. The latter will include CCR’s major ‘Unleash’ commercial conference at locations such as the ICC Wales, and managing our corporate attendance at national and international events including MIPIM in Cannes each year.

 

What We Are Looking For From You

We’re looking for a self-starter who is a highly competent and confident operator; we need someone with a significant amount of experience in organising and managing corporate events, preferably at international level, so experience in planning, design, production, promotion, cost control and coordination of CCR events is required.

This role is ideal for someone with a sound knowledge of the Welsh political landscape and the ability to deal confidently and professionally with political leaders and senior officers in local government. Experience of developing internal engagement activities for our growing team of experts will be a major asset.

Demonstrable creativity is required, along with the ability to brief and work with our creative agencies that include PR, design, branding, event management and AV, while strictly keeping to agreed budgets too.

This vacancy incorporates a combination of office and home-based working. The offices are based near Cardiff's city center in Cardiff University’s new sbarc|spark building which includes SPARK, the world’s first social sciences research park plus a hub for innovation, startups and spinouts.

A driving licence and access to a car is essential as there will be occasional business travel within the Region. Occasional travel overseas may be required.
