An exciting opportunity has arisen within Atebion Solutions Ltd, a Cardiff Council wholly owned company based within the Resource Directorate’s Commissioning and Procurement team.
We are looking to appoint a self-motivated Strategic Category Manager to join the team with a general procurement practitioner background gained primarily from the public sector although this is not essential.

Experience across a broad range of public sector spend Categories such as People, Built Environment and Corporate would be beneficial.
The role will be for an enthusiastic individual who demonstrates the requirements and experience detailed in the Person Specification.
What We Are Looking For From You
The main responsibilities and requirements of the roles are:
• Leading, directing and co-ordinating strategic sourcing activity and ensuring effective contract and supplier relationship management to maximise value (both financial and social value based.)
• Work will come from predominantly from external customers and partners, working across Local Authority boundaries both inside and outside of Wales as well as support with internal work commitments as demand requires.
• To support the Senior Category Manager in the planning and delivery of the Atebion Solutions pipeline of fee earning activities in order to hit annual revenue targets as well as business development activities in winning new work.
• Experience of using a Category Management based approach to strategic sourcing and familiarity with effective contract and supplier relationship management in order to maximise value for money.
• Deliver and implement category management and relevant sourcing strategies.
• Deliver targeted savings across the assigned categories / sub-categories.
• Providing advice and guidance to support the framework members, category team members and Service Area staff with respect to procurement procedures and processes.
• The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills.

The role is permanent and is based at County Hall albeit currently due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, all staff are home working.
