About The Service
The Supported Living Service assists adults with a Learning Disability to live in their own home in the community whilst receiving personal domiciliary care and support from Support Workers.
Cardiff Council Internal Supported Living Service currently supports 21 service users residing within 9 supported living schemes across Cardiff, delivering in the region of 2,050 care and support hours per week.
The service model is underpinned by the following principles:
• The right to an ordinary pattern of life within the community
• The right to be treated as an individual
• The right to additional help and support in developing maximum potential.
About the job
We are pleased to invite suitably experienced individuals to apply for this exciting new post that will support the future development of Cardiff Council’s Internal Supported Living Service. The post holder will be responsible for strategic management and coordination of services provided within the Domiciliary Care Agency in accordance with the Agency’s Statement of Purpose and the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.
The post holder will be required to lead on the development and implementation of a Quality Assurance Framework and Audit Strategy for the service ensuring that Q A processes dovetail with the overarching QA Framework for Adult Services.
Crucially the post holder will provide strategy leadership for the development of the service and the implementation of changes to ensure that individuals who receive the service have their needs appropriately met. The post holder will have responsibility for remodelling and modernising the service to meet the changing needs of Adult Services, developing best practice models and redesigning internal systems and processes to ensure a standardised approach across the service.
The post holder will work with senior officers across Health and Social Care to instigate a service wide review of practice, and design and implementation plan to take the service forward.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate innovative practice with a strong commitment to improving the lives of individuals who receive services. Candidates must have an excellent understanding of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 as it relates to the provision of Domiciliary Care and the successful applicant will have line-management responsibility for the Registered Manager role.
Additionally we are looking for someone with experience of working at a senior level in a Supported Living environment, someone with confident leadership skills and a good track record of effectively managing change.
There will be a need to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service which will sometimes involve working outside of core business hours and being part of an on call rota.
