Cardiff Council’s Support and Accommodation Service provide accommodation, advice and support to vulnerable single people and families in housing need.

 

Our services run 24/7 365 days a year.

 

Our service has had to make large changes and the successful candidates will contribute to the expansion of the service.

About the job

The Supported Accommodation team for families are based in multiple locations across the city.

 

The role involves the day-to-day running of the Council’s portfolio of supported accommodation, which provides temporary housing for clients and their families who are homeless and assessed as priority need. 

 

As Supported Accommodation Officer, you will have responsibility for a portfolio of properties and clients, building management and organising diversionary activities.

We are looking for dynamic, motivated and creative individuals with the ability to foster positive relationships.

 

This is an exciting opportunity and we are looking for a variety of people from various working backgrounds to make a real difference.  Proven experience of working with people with complex behaviours and an understanding of the issues faced by homeless individuals and/or families will be an advantage

 

You will have experience of working with customers face to face and a commitment to providing a high-quality customer service. You will have good communication, administration and IT skills and the ability to resolve customer disputes in a positive and constructive manner

 

The ability to speak a community language would be an advantage.
