About The Service
These vacancies are only available to employees of Cardiff Council including Cardiff Works and Agency Workers currently engaged with the Council.
The Targeted Support, Early Help and Engagement Service is part of the wider Education Directorate in Cardiff Council. The service comprises of the Education Other than at School (EOTAS) service, the Education Welfare Service (EWS) and the Youth Service.
It is a large service serving a wide range of provisions with direct links to Children's Services, Youth Justice, schools, Early Help and Housing amongst others. It works closely with other local authorities , private providers and the third sector.
The service is a provider of formal, informal and non-formal education and provides support and challenge via quality assurance systems.
The service targets support to vulnerable young people and families. As well as delivering high quality education and quality assuring the same of others the service has a high emphasis on safeguarding and equality
About the job
The posts are reconfigured to enhance the work of the service which requires business support for the following, which will be shared across three posts.
Checking and triaging Education Welfare referrals
Administration of the Service Level Agreement process for EOTAS
Registration of learners on SIMs and setting up reports on attendance and progress
Establishing and maintaining tracking systems for groups of learners
Daily operations of the Community Teaching service
Setting up of Hwb accounts for learners
Finance tracking and recoupment processes
Communications with schools and parents/carers and other agencies
Minute taking and administration of panels and tracking the outcomes
Supporting the links with Early Help and Education Safeguarding
Supporting the service safeguarding processes
Collating requests for sensitive information and preparing responses
What We Are Looking For From You
Ability to identify and communicate priorities to the relevant people.
Working knowledge if SIMs or willingness to learn
Have a sound knowledge of and adherence to safeguarding and equality policies.
Comprehensive ICT skills to include use of Microsoft Office and the ability to maintain electronic records, with attention to detail. Competent in using management databases.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Management of sensitive data and other forms of information in accordance with data protection requirements/GDPR.
Ability to work under pressure, be adaptable and meet deadlines.
Good numeracy skills.
Highly organised and methodical approach to work.
