About The Service

The Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Pension Fund is part of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), and administered by Cardiff Council. The Fund has 42 participating employers and over 45,000 Active, Deferred and Pensioner members.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to be part of our busy and exciting team delivering a high-quality pensions administration service to current and former members of the Local Government Pension Scheme.

About the job

You will be responsible for assisting in testing and monitoring the implementation of system developments including upgrades issued by the software provider and changes in LGPS regulations.

To undertake a full range of duties including processing ad-hoc reporting on membership data, and analysing / manipulating member data. Processing data quality rectification from reporting provided by the Senior Technical Officer and from using reporting functions within the Pension Systems. Assist with testing and implementing system upgrades and assist in the maintenance and development of all Pension Systems.

To provide technical support including advice, guidance and assist in training to the pension team, members and employers on Altair, i-Connect and Member Self Service.

In addition, you will be required to participate in projects including the McCloud Remedy, Pensions Dashboards, the development and maintenance of desktop procedures, year-end processing and production of annual benefit statements.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will need to demonstrate a flexible attitude to work and the ability to work efficiently under pressure, excellent attention to detail, good communication skills, both verbal and written, have the ability to prioritise duties and consistently meet deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail, which are integral to this role.

Full training will be given both by the team and external providers, but the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate their ability to gain an understanding of how the pension scheme works and the benefits that the scheme offers.
