An opportunity has arisen within the street works operational team for a Public Rights Of Way Technician.
About the job
The core functions of this post will be to carry out maintenance and repair activities on various public rights of way and cycleway assets and other public open spaces managed by the authority. Working within the Public Rights of Way team, you will be required to deliver a varied, customer focused maintenance service utilising available resources working to time constraints as well as H&S and policy requirements. You will attend to emergencies that require making safe and remedial repairs.
What We Are Looking For From You
Must have experience of operating in a public rights of way / highways / construction / engineering environment. Must have a street works and manual handling qualifications and hold or be working towards a traffic management (12D) and IOSH (or equivalent H&S) qualifications. Have a flexible and adaptable approach to how your work is delivered.
Working Knowledge of on-site health and safety and ecology awareness. Able to participate in out-of-hours call out and winter maintenance service. Utilise technology and I.T. equipment as required. Requirement to work outdoors in all weather conditions and various locations within the city and county of Cardiff. Maintain the reputation of the Council by adopting a professional and courteous approach.
